This workshop is for yoga teachers, students, educators, counselors, facilitators, coaches and any and all who are interested in learning about trauma informed movement practices. Sessions will include information about the neurobiology of trauma, how trauma shows up in the body, how language cues can assist in healing, and how movement practices can be a helpful tool for reconnecting the mind and body.
This training will give you skills and tools to use with your students, clients, patients, or friends. This training will be rooted in yoga practices and philosophies and will give a well-rounded education for all.
Friday’s session will be based in neurobiology and theory to understand how trauma occurs and what happens in the body. This session will be rooted in trauma informed communication and awareness to give a steady base for those wanting to create trauma informed spaces or bring trauma informed language and conversations into their lives and work.

Saturday’s session will focus on the application of movement. Movement and sense-based practices are some of the best tools for healing and creating supportive spaces around trauma. Yoga and somatic techniques will be used for those interested in bringing in movement to their practices to support others. You are invited to both sessions as they will create a holistic view of trauma informed practices, however, if you can only make one session, you are welcome to attend.

Continuing Education credits will be offered for those members of the Yoga Alliance however you do not need to be a member to attend this training.

Mia Tartuno will be leading this workshop! Mia is a Women’s Mentor, Yoga Instructor, and Professional Gathering Facilitator. Her mission is to weave ancient wisdom into the modern world. Her offerings include classes, trainings, ceremonies and retreats for individuals and groups. She is a 500hr Registered Yoga Instructor, YACEP, Certified Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher, Certified Professional Life Coach, and owner of Move Create Radiate. Her work blends tools of women’s wisdom, breath work, somatic movement, ceremonies, rituals, teaching menstrual cycle awareness, and yoga to nourish and find balance in the body, mind, and spirit.
